From September 2020 to January 2021, the city of Genoa is hosting an exhibition by the artist Jiménez Deredia. "Deredia in Genoa - The Sphere Between Two Worlds" features monumental outdoor works in bronze and marble in the city's most significant locations, beginning at Brignole Station and passing through Piazza De Ferrari and Piazza Matteotti to reach Porto Antico. The City of Genoa presents the exhibition by Maestro Jiménez Deredia to the public as a message of positivity, light, and rebirth for one of Italy's most important cities, which, like the entire Italian nation, has experienced a critical historical moment due to the international pandemic. The cultural event is part of an international circuit of monumental exhibitions that began in 2003. Deredia in Genoa is the continuation of an exhibition route that has visited many cities around the world, from Florence to Rome, from Valencia to Trapani, from Mexico City to Lucca, from San Jose to Miami.
The event is held in collaboration with Esselunga and Enel Energia and with the support of the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo.
