Stardust
Costa Rica 2001

From the towering marble mountains of Carrara in Italy to the coast of Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula, the documentary "Dust of Stars" traces the spiritual journey of Costa Rican sculptor Jiménez Deredia, the first Latin American artist to create a sculpture for St. Peter's Basilica.

The documentary was directed by Costa Rican filmmaker Hilda Hidalgo, produced by Laura Pacheco, and edited by Mario Cardona.

JIMÉNEZ DEREDIA ART AU SOMMET
Courchevel, France 2024-2025

Video produced by Courchevel City Council for the Jiménez Deredia Art au Sommet exhibition. The town of Courchevel, at 1,850 meters above sea level, and the surrounding mountain peaks are enriched by monumental sculptures by the most important contemporary artists. Salvador Dalì, Jean Michel Folòn, Fernando Botero, Bruno Catalano, and Lorenzo Quin, among others, have exhibited in this unique setting.

From December 2023 to May 2024, the exclusive city of Courchevel has chosen artist Jiménez Deredia to create a dialogue with the power and beauty of its extraordinary snow-capped mountains.

THE ROUTE OF PEACE
Video Documentary

Documentary video describing artist Jiménez Deredia's project "The Route of Peace." The Route of Peace is an ongoing sculptural and architectural project, which constitutes Jiménez Deredia's most important work. It consists of nine spaces created for nine countries in the Americas, starting in Canada, passing through the United States, Mexico, Yucatán, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, and Chile, and ending in Argentina.

THE SONG OF LIFE
A film by Mario Cardona

The Song of Life is a short documentary directed by Costa Rican filmmaker Mario Cardona, offering an intimate look at the life and work of sculptor Jorge Jiménez Deredia. The film is inspired by the artist's creative process and philosophy, highlighting his connection to pre-Columbian cultures and his concept of "Transmutative Symbolism," which seeks to represent the transformation of matter and spirituality through organic and circular sculptural forms.
