Stardust
Costa Rica 2001
From the towering marble mountains of Carrara in Italy to the coast of Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula, the documentary "Dust of Stars" traces the spiritual journey of Costa Rican sculptor Jiménez Deredia, the first Latin American artist to create a sculpture for St. Peter's Basilica.
The documentary was directed by Costa Rican filmmaker Hilda Hidalgo, produced by Laura Pacheco, and edited by Mario Cardona.

Perched at 1,850 meters above sea level, the town of Courchevel and its surrounding alpine peaks are annually transformed by monumental sculptures from some of the world’s most renowned contemporary artists. Salvador Dalí, Jean-Michel Folon, Fernando Botero, Bruno Catalano, and Lorenzo Quinn are among those who have exhibited in this unique setting.
From December 2023 to May 2024, the exclusive resort town of Courchevel has invited artist Jiménez Deredia to engage in a dialogue with the power and beauty of its extraordinary snow-covered mountains.
LA RUTA DE LA PAZ

Documentary video describing artist Jiménez Deredia's project “La Ruta de la Paz” (The Route of Peace). La Ruta de la Paz is an ongoing sculptural and architectural project, which constitutes Jiménez Deredia's most important work. It consists of nine spaces created for nine countries in the Americas, starting in Canada, passing through the United States, Mexico, Yucatán, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, and Chile, and ending in Argentina.

El CANTO DE LA VIDA (The Song of Life) is a short documentary directed by Costa Rican filmmaker Mario Cardona, offering an intimate look at the life and work of sculptor Jorge Jiménez Deredia. The film is inspired by the artist's creative process and philosophy, highlighting his connection to pre-Columbian cultures and his concept of "Transmutative Symbolism," which seeks to represent the transformation of matter and spirituality through organic and circular sculptural forms.
